General Terms and Conditions
  • This limited warranty is valid for Sony Product purchase in Malaysia ONLY. It is non-transferable.

  • This limited warranty is INVALID when the factory-applied model and serial number is intentionally altered, modified or removed.

  • This limited warranty is VALID for warranty registered Sony Product or having valid Proof of Purchase.

  • Sony warranty that Sony Product is free from defect in materials and workmanship and in conformity with respective specifications of Sony Product, for a period stated in the table below -counting from the date of delivery or date of purchase which is stated in Proof of Purchase.

  • Sony shall, at Sony’s sole discretion, either repair Products or replace them with the equivalent products without charging any technical labor fee and repair parts cost to Customer, on the condition that customer brings Products to Sony’s authorized service shops within the warranty period. In case of repair or replacement, Sony shall own all the part removed from the defective Products. Sony uses new and/or reconditioned parts made by various manufacturers in performing warranty repairs and replacing Products. Even if Sony repairs or replaces a product, its original stated warranty period is not extended.

  • This limited warranty covers only the hardware components contained in Product. It does not cover technical assistance for system hardware or software in setting up, installation, recovery, reformat and usage. It does not cover any software products contained in product; Sony excludes all warranties expressed or implied in respect of any software provided with Product and any such software is provided “AS IS” unless expressly provided for in any enclosed software limited warranty. Please refer to the End User License Agreements included with Products for Customers’ rights with regards to the manufacturer or supplier of the software parts if the Product and the parties’ respective obligations with respect to the software.

  • With respect to all service provided, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY PRIOR TO PRODUCT SERVICE TO BACKUP THE CONTENTS OF YOUR HARD DRIVE/INTERNAL MEMORY, INCLUDING ANY DATA YOU HAVE STORED OR SOFTWARE YOU HAVE INSTALLED ON THE HARD DRIVE/INTERNAL MEMORY. It is likely that those contents of your hard drive/internal memory will be lost or reformatted in the course of service and Sony will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data or other information stored on any media or any part of any Product serviced hereunder or any consequential damages resulting from there.

  • IF DURING THE REPAIR OF PRODUCTS THE CONTENTS OF THE HARD DRIVE/INTERNAL MEMORY ARE ALTERED, DELETED, OR IN ANY WAY MODIFIED, SONY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE WHATSOEVER, YOUR PRODUCT WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU CONFIGURED AS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF SOFTWARE)

  • Be sure to remove all third party hardware, software, features, part, options, alterations, and attachments not warranted by Sony prior to sending Product to Sony for service. Sony is not liable for any loss or damage to these items.

  • This warranty is limited and does not cover, inter alia, any consumable items (such as batteries) supplied with Product; any accessory products which is not contained in the Product (such as mouse, port replicator, AC adapter and speaker); cosmetic damages; damage or loss to any software programs, data, or removable storage media; or damage due to (1) acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use or modifications of Product; (2) improper operation or maintenance of Product; (3) connection to improper voltage supply; or (4) attempted repair by any other than a Sony authorized personal computer service facility.

  • This limited warranty does not apply when the malfunction results from the use of Products in conjunction with accessories, products or ancillary or peripheral equipment, or where it is determined by Sony that there is no fault with Product itself.

  • SONY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABLILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE TO HE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL SONY BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF PRODITS, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH SONY PRODUCT. THE LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION.


 

 

 

Sony Memory Stick Terms and Conditions
Sony warrants this SONY product against defects in MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP, on the following terms and conditions:
  • The warranty period shall be
    (i) for Sony Memory Stick™ Standard Series, 5 years, and
    (ii) for Sony Memory Stick PRO™ Series, 5 years,
    (iii) for Sony Memory Stick™ High Speed Series, 10 years from the original date of purchase.
  • Please call our Customer Interactive Centre Hotline if you wish to clarify which category your product is in.

  • T he warranty excludes any damage or loss arising from or related to any act of God, accident, corrosion, misuse or inappropriate use, deformation, discoloration,
    unauthorized alteration, or repair by any person other than a person duly-authorized and approved by Sony.

  • Sony shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive, exemplary, consequential or economic damage or loss (including loss of profits, data, anticipated savings, goodwill or business opportunities) arising from or related to the warranty (including Sony’s services under it). Sony’s liability under or in relation to the warranty (including Sony’s services under it) shall be limited to the cost of replacing the product with the same or an equivalent product, or of repairing the product, whichever is lower. To the extent permitted by the applicable law, Sony disclaims all other warranties (express or implied) with respect to the Memory Stick, including but not limited to any implied warranties for merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose.

  • The warranty excludes Memory Stick™ Data Rescue Service, a chargeable service that restores data stored in the Memory Stick by file type and returns such restored data to you. The following are not included in Memory Stick Data Rescue Service:
    (i) Examination and analysis of causes leading to malfunction
    (ii) Restoration of the Memory Stick for other purposes.
  • Sony’s decision on any matter relating to defects, workmanship or materials in relation to the product, or on any other matter arising under the warranty where Sony is required to make a decision in its discretion, shall be final and conclusive and you hereby agree to abide by Sony’s decision.

  • Please keep your ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT from the Sony Authorized Dealer and present it together with this warranty card for Memory Stick™ Diagnosis Service and verification when required.

  • The warranty extends only to SONY products purchased in Malaysia.
