What’s new with Xperia™ Calendar?

With the new Xperia™ Calendar app, you can switch from day view to month view, while never losing sight of your daily planning. You can easily find your way to meetings by using the simple map integration, and expand your network using the LinkedIn™ calendar integration. 

What are the system requirements for the new Xperia™ Calendar app? 

You can use Xperia™ Calendar on devices running Android™ 5.0 or later. 

I already have a Calendar app from Sony on my device. What will happen if I download and install the new Xperia™ Calendar app from Google Play™? 

If your device meets the system requirements, you can download and use the new Xperia™ Calendar app from Google Play™. However, many Sony devices already have a Calendar app pre-installed. After setting up your new Xperia™ Calendar app, you can disable your old Calendar app. You can also turn off the notifications from your old Calendar app to avoid getting notifications for the same meeting from more than one app.

How do I disable the old Calendar app?

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon. 
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Find and tap your old calendar.
4. Find and tap DISABLE.

Are there any differences between the two Calendar apps from Sony? Why do I get notifications from both of them after downloading Xperia™ Calendar from Google Play™? 

Your downloaded Xperia™ Calendar is a new app, and will not replace your old Calendar app. However, you can disable your old Calendar app or turn off notifications if you like. The two Calendar apps may differ slightly, depending on the software on your device. Downloading the new Xperia™ Calendar app from Google Play™ will provide you with updated new features and bug fixes. 

How do I turn off notifications?

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon. 
2. Find and tap Settings > Sound & notification > App notifications.
3. Find and tap your old calendar.
4. Drag the slider beside Block to the right.

Why can’t I find Tasks or add comments when selecting Accept on event invitations?

The Tasks option and the possibility to add comments are closely dependent on the software of your device, and could not be integrated in the new stand-alone Xperia™ Calendar app. If these features are requested by our customers we may look into alternate ways of reintroducing them in coming releases.

How do I synch my Google Calendar™ account with the new Xperia™ Calendar app?

You might experience that your Google Calendar™ account doesn’t synch with the new Xperia™ Calendar app after disabling Google Calendar™. Due to limitations in Google Calendar™, you have to keep the Google Calendar™ app active for it to synch with other calendar apps. Instead of disabling Google Calendar™, you can turn off notifications from the app.
