My Sony Care Warranty Terms and Conditions:

This My Sony Care Warranty contract is applicable for Sony Malaysia products which are registered under the My Sony Care warranty and valid in Malaysia only.

The My Sony Care coverage period is valid as stated in the applicable My Sony Care contract certificate.

This contract provides free labour and parts replacement for defects arising from mechanical and electrical breakdown of the parts or components within the period of extended warranty.

The repair and replacement of any parts of the product will be at the option of Sony (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

All defective replaced and spare parts shall not be returned to the owner.

The My Sony Care Contract Certificate must be presented at Service Counter before any repairing or service job to be carried out.

All claims on repair & replacement of parts should not exceed the product purchase price printed on the My Sony Care Contract Certificate.

Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd reserves the right to replace the product under My Sony Care contract, with a current equivalent model after attempt to repair the product fails.

In the event of theft the My Sony Care Contract is automatically cancelled with no refund.

Sony (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. reserves the right to terminate any My Sony Care warranty contract with no refund by written notice to the owner in the event that, in the opinion of Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the product is used for the purposes other than for which the product was originally designed (e.g domestic use).

My Sony Care Warranty does not cover:
a) When the products are used for business or commercial purposes (Computer for personal office use is exempted).
b) Accessories and consumable items such as batteries, tapes, charges, adaptors and all optional add on parts.
c) Routine maintenance, adjustments, alignments or general cleaning. Problems arising from or due to improper installation, weak or unclear signal reception due to reception or transmission problems from external causes.
d) Damage caused by nature disasters (earthquake, storm, flood, water, sand and pollution), theft, burglary, malicious damage, accidental external impact, animal and pest infestation or intrusion.
e)Damage or problems caused by improper or wrong voltage connection.
f) Problems or defects caused by tampering, conversion, unauthorised repairs.
g) Serial number of the product has been altered, defaced in any way. Fire, neglect, misuse or abuse, aircraft, lightning, vehicle impact, corrosion, battery leakage, power outages or surges.
h) Cost of repair or replacement due to lack of maintenance required by the manufacturer.
i) Any liability incurred as a result of a breakdown caused by computer virus or realignment to products. Defects resulting directly from software installation and removal are also excluded.
j) All transportation damage is excluded.
k) Normal wear and wear items item not integral or necessary to the functioning of the products or routine service, or if the wear and tear on the part has exceeded the field tolerances allowed by the Manufacturer.

The My Sony Care Warranty must be purchased together with the Sony product in a single receipt.

- What is My Sony Care?
My Sony Care is an optional add-on service plan that enhances the ownership experience of selected Sony products. It provides extended warranty coverage, maintenance services (for selected products), and discounts on repair parts.
- Who is eligible for My Sony Care?
Customers who purchase selected Sony products and register their product under the My Sony account within the required period are eligible to purchase My Sony Care.
- When should I purchase My Sony Care?
My Sony Care must be purchased immediately from the date of product purchase.
- Where can I purchase My Sony Care?
My Sony Care can be purchased at Sony Store BBCC, Sony Store The Curve and Sony Store IOI City Mall.
- How long is the warranty coverage with My Sony Care?
My Sony Care extends the total warranty period up to 27 months, including the standard warranty and registered warranty extension.
- What type of damage is covered under My Sony Care?
The coverage follows the same terms as Sony’s standard warranty, covering manufacturing defects and hardware issues under normal usage.
- What happens if my product requires repair?
Customers can bring their product to an authorized service centre or collection point for inspection and repair.
- How long does it take for my My Sony Care policy to be activated?
Once you purchase My Sony Care, the policy will be processed and reflected in your My Sony Rewards account within 60 days.
- What should I do if my policy does not appear after 60 days?
Customers are advised to contact Sony Customer Support or visit a Sony Store with their proof of purchase for assistance.
- Is Premium Care transferable if I sell my product?
Typically non-transferable, as the plan is linked to the registered product and owner.
- Does My Sony Care cover accidental damage?
No. Accidental damage such as water damage, drops, or misuse is usually not covered unless specifically stated.
- Can I purchase Premium Care after 30 days?
No. The plan must be purchased immediately.
- Can I use My Sony Care overseas?
My Sony Care is typically valid only in Malaysia.
- Will I receive a My Sony Care Contract Certificate? How will I get it?
Yes, customers will receive a My Sony Care Contract Certificate at the point of purchase.
The certificate will be issued directly by the Sony Store (shopfront staff) upon successful purchase of My Sony Care. If the certificate was not provided during purchase, customers may return to the original store with their proof of purchase to request for it.
