    Does the issue improve after setting the speaker playback quality (Codec) to "Priority on stable connection (SBC)"?

    The playback quality (codec) of the speaker can be set using the Music Center app or the speaker button.
    Connect the speaker to a power outlet in advance using a commercially available USB AC adapter, or connect it to a running computer.

    Configuring settings with Sony Music Center

    1. Turn on the speaker.
    2. Tap [Music Center] on your smartphone, iPhone, etc. to start up the application.

       
    3. Tap the speaker type.

       
    4. Tap Settings.

       
    5. Tap Other Settings.

       
    6. Tap Bluetooth Codec.

       
    7. Select a codec to SBC.

     

    Configuring settings with buttons on the speaker

    While holding the + (volume) button, press the  (power) button/  (PAIRING) button until the  (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes.
    When the setting is changed to the "Priority on stable connection" mode, the  (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes 3 times.
    If the  (BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes 2 times, the setting is switched to "Priority on sound quality". Change the setting to "Priority on stable connection" using the procedure above.

      Tracks recorded in a high quality format may also put a strain on the Bluetooth communication due to its large capacity.
      The strain from communication can be reduced by switching the playback quality (codec) to "Priority on stable connection".
