The Wide Area Tap function of the Linkbuds does not work as expected.

    Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Use the Wide Area Tap function with a different application.
      The tap reacts correctly.
      Depending on the app, the Wide Area Tap function may not react as expected. If this is the case, that app may not fully support the Wide Area Tap function and you will need to use the connected device to operate that app.
      The tap doesn't work with that app.
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    2. Try the following procedure to verify that the Wide Area Tap function is working.
      1. Restart the connected device.
      2. Open the Sony | Headphones Connect app, select the System tab, and once disable the Wide Area Tap function. Then, activate it again.
      3. Check that the Wide Area Tap function is assigned to any function other than None Assigned.
        1. Open the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
        2. In the System tab, select (Settings) on the right side of the Change the tap operation function menu.
        3. Select a function other than None Assigned.

        Available Operations

        In the default settings, the operations below are assigned.
        Note: The volume can only be controlled when you play music.

      4. Check again how to use the Wide Area Tap function: Tap the headphones or around the ear quickly with an interval of about 0.2 seconds. The tap can be easily detected by performing a firm tap with a forefinger or using 2 fingers at one time. The tap detection area is as shown:

      The tap reacts correctly.
      The issue was caused by a temporary malfunction or the way you tap.
      The tap does not react correctly.
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    3. Make sure that the ear fitting supporters are properly attached to the headphones, and the headphones are properly attached to the ears.
      Note: If the ear fitting supporters are not properly attached, the Wide Area Tap function may not work. Align the protruding part of the headphones with the cutout on the fitting supporter (A). Make sure to insert the ear fitting supporter completely.
      The issue is resolved
      The issue was caused by the way the ear fitting supporters were attached or the way the headphones were being worn.
      The issue is not resolved
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    4. Reset the headphones.

      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    5. Initialize the headphones.
      Note: Initialization returns the headphones to the factory settings and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.
