ILCE-7M5 recording may fail when shooting movie with the ECM-M1 attached
We’ve confirmed this issue is caused by a software defect, and we’re currently working on a fix. We’ll announce the update on our website once it’s ready.
In the meantime, you can avoid the issue by doing either of the following:

Use the ECM-M1 in analog mode, or

If using digital mode, turn the camera off and on before each video recording.
When turning the camera off and on, be sure to wait at least 1–2 seconds to allow it to fully power off before restarting.
