Broadcast & Professional Products Standard Service Labour Chart

(Effective from 1st April 2012)

One of the most important factors to consider when repairing your Sony product is service charges. You'll want to know what you're paying for and we've created a simple guide to service charges* for servicing Sony products.

*These charges are applicable for labour only and does not include price of parts.

  • Level 1 refers to Repair with Least Disassembly for Functional Maintenance/ Checking or Software / Firmware Uploading
  • Level 2 refers to Repair with More Disassembly for Part Replacement or Specification Adjustment / Alignment (including performing Level 1)
IMPORTANT NOTE
Sony Product Warranty Repair Requirement
Sony Product MUST have Online Warranty Registration Status; or Original Proof of Purchase, presented at Sony Service Centre during repair job registration.

For Outdoor Home Service, this MUST BE presented to Sony Technician for verification prior to the repair.
Sony Product Warranty Repair Coverage DOES NOT INCLUDE:
  • Defects due to commercial use; acts of God; damaged through any external force or impact or misuse that is not stated in the product's design feature/specification; technology limitations and third party's modification, tamper repairs, connectivity & software;
  • Technical assistance for system hardware or software in setting up, installation, recovery, reformat and usage;
  • Software/firmware update. Customer to do self-help downloads from online support website;
  • Routine Cleaning, Preventive Maintenance, Installation, Connection Setup.
Appropriate charges shall impose for these services required.
Sony Product Internal Memory or Data & External Party Loaded Software Handling
Customer is SOLELY RESPONSIBLE to BACKUP/SAVE product internal data/memory/ installed software that may have stored or preserved on the Sony Product. It is likely that such data/memory/installed software will be lost or reformatted during service and Sony SHALL NOT AT ANYTIME OR WHATSOEVER BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE for any damage to or loss of such content/memory data and/or software.

Customer will be requested to SIGN a REPAIR ACCEPTANCE FORM before Sony can proceed with the quoted repair.
Out-Of-Warranty Repair -Service warranty coverage period
Any parts replaced at the repair shall be guaranteed against material defects and/or workmanship for three (3) months from the date of collection.

Sony will, at its option, repair the product using new or refurbished parts; or replace the product with a new or refurbished product.

Sony reserves the right to retain replaced or exchanged defective part/product for investigation & proper environmental disposal.
Level 1 or Level 2 Repair Charges
Sony will impose the appropriate Level Repair Charges in according to the repair effort and time taken needed to perform the repair till completion.

Sony reserved the right to impose DOUBLE the Level Repair Charges if the Product is inspected to have third party's modification or tamper repairs before.
Travelling Charges (for On-Site Home Service & Repair Pickup Service)
Stated Transport Charge shall be imposed as travelling and administration fee on top of the labour and spare parts charges.

Outdoor Home Service is scheduled by appointment available at Company Business Hours.
Repair of Oversea or Parallel Imported Sony Product (which is NOT Officially Marketed by Sony Malaysia)
Additional 50% of the stated service labour charge shall be imposed. Customer shall borne additional expenses (related to courier, insurance, administration and oversea repairing charges) the event the Sony Product requires repair from country of origin or Japan.
Deposit Fee & Estimation Fee
Stated Level 1 charge shall be imposed as Deposit upon customer agree to check-in the Out-Warranty Sony Product to Service Centre.

Stated Level 1 charge shall be imposed as Out-Warranty Inspection Fee in the event customer rejects to proceed with the quoted repair.

50% deposit payment upon quotation for repair charge exceeding RM2,000 and prior to repair shall be at the discretion of Sony.
Disposal Action on Uncollected/Reclaimed Sony Product
Sony Product that is not collected/ reclaimed by customers for whatever reason(s) after three (3) months from the date of collection notification either through written or verbal from Sony Service Center shall be disposed off at the absolute discretion of the Company. No customer claim shall be allowed after the product is disposed.
