Why is the left side of the subject shaded when shooting at a close distance with the flash?

About the shade on the left side of the subject when shooting at close distance with the flash.
This camera has an internal flash to the side of the lens, and subjects get light by strobing from the right direction of the subject. Therefore, this makes shade on the left side of the subject when shooting at close distance with the flash.
To reduce shade, please hold the camera in the vertical position to locate the flash above the lens.
