The notice of Free Repair and Free Warranty Extension for VAIO Notebook Personal Computer – VGN-CS2 and VGN-CS3 Series was announced in January 2010. After continued analysis with the part supplier and monitoring of the market since the announcement, there is a possibility that several VAIO models listed in the previous announcement below may display a horizontal line noise on the top or bottom of the LCD screen. This symptom may occur after the 2-year free repair period offered. Therefore, Sony will offer an extension of free repair service until further notice.

Dear Valued Sony VAIO customers,

Sony has recently identified that some LCD panels of VGN-CS2 and VGN-CS3 series VAIO Notebook Personal Computers may sometimes display horizontal lines in the upper or lower part of the LCD panel.

For any customer requiring repair of their VAIO notebook personal computer due to the above-mentioned symptom, Sony will cover the cost of repair (parts and labor) at no charge for a period of three years starting from the purchase date* and in addition to the standard limited 12 month warranty, we will offer a two-year warranty extension for this LCD panel issue.
