Digital Noise-Cancelling (DNC) Function
Featuring a revolutionary DNC software engine built into the player that pushes out optimal noise-cancelling signals, Sony’s Walkman® Player makes electric noise history. A digital equaliser presents the original audio footprint in superb clarity, while armed with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones means that you’re assured of superb sound quality or pristine silence in-train, in-flight or simply at the office.
How It Works
Ambient noise signals are first detected via the inbuilt microphone planted within each headphone. They are then analysed and subsequently neutralised by opposing sound waves exuded by the Walkman’s advanced noise-cancelling circuit.

How DNC Works

Three distinct noise-cancelling modes eliminate in-train, in-flight and office ambient noise.

DNC in 3 modes

* Total noise suppression ratio is equivalent to approx. 98.0% (-17dB) reduction of energy of sound compared with not wearing headphones. (NC Environment: In-flight cabin).
