The disc will not play if it has not been correctly finalized. Players that can only play discs recorded in the DVD-RW Video Mode cannot play discs recorded in DVD-RW VR Mode. Even if the player is DVD-RW VR Mode compatible, discs containing one-generation copy controlled contents recorded with CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media) protection cannot be played.
